The standard immunophenotyping panel helps to shed light on patients who have recurring or unusual infections. It also serves as a valuable monitoring tool for patients who currently have immunodeficiency. The basophil activation panel acts like a virtual food challenge for patients who are not sure if they have food allergies. It measures the specificity of various food allergies in the blood. This testing can be performed in conjunction with or as an alternative to a food challenge. Dr. McNeil can provide his analysis of the results and his recommendations to other providers regarding patient diagnosis and care.
