ABOUT CROHN'S DISEASE
Crohn's disease is characterized as a chronic inflammatory condition of the GI tract. It most commonly affects the lower end of the small intestine and beginning of the colon, but it may affect any part of the GI tract, from the mouth to anus.
crohn’s vs ulcerative colitis
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are different inflammatory bowel diseases. Crohn's can affect any part of the GI tract, but ulcerative colitis only affects the colon. Additionally, in ulcerative colitis, only the superficial inner layer of the colon is affected, while Crohn's disease can affect many layers of tissue throughout the GI tract.
