About us

Donald McNeil, MD, has conducted clinical research studies over a wide range of therapeutic indications for over 25 years. Because of his passion for discovering game-changing therapies for chronically ill patients, he established Optimed Research in 2006, a free-standing, dedicated research site located in central Ohio. That single site has grown into an Integrated Network of sites managed by Optimed Research. The network consists of physicians from various specialties located across the country from Hawaii to New Jersey. Specialties include Allergy/Immunology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics and more. This model leverages the strength and experience of Optimed Research with the clinical expertise of its physician partners. Optimed Research provides the administrative, regulatory and accounting oversight, while the physicians focus their energies on the patients. Altogether, Dr. McNeil and the Integrated Network have conducted hundreds of groundbreaking research studies.

Expanding flow cytometry solutions in healthcare

Optimed Laboratory is partnered with Amerimmune Group to collect, process, and evaluate laboratory tests for immune disorders and food allergies. The standard immunophenotyping panel helps to shed light on patients who have recurring or unusual infections. It also serves as a valuable monitoring tool for patients who currently have immunodeficiency. The basophil immunophenotyping panel acts like a virtual food challenge for patients who have or who might have food allergies. It measures the specificity of various food allergies in the blood. This testing can be performed in conjunction with or as an alternative to a food challenge.  Dr. McNeil can provide his analysis of the results and his recommendations to other providers regarding patient diagnosis and care.
